Common Fraud Tactics
🎣 Phishing SMS / Email
Scammers may impersonate Polaris eSIM by sending SMS or emails containing fake links to trick you into entering your account password or credit card information. Please note: We will never ask you for your password or full credit card number via SMS.
📞 Impersonating Customer Service
Scammers may impersonate customer service representatives, using reasons like "your eSIM is about to expire" or "there is a problem with your order that needs a refund" to request personal data or ATM transfers. Please note: Polaris eSIM customer service will never proactively call to request ATM operations or money transfers.
🎁 Fake Promotional Activities
Fake "limited-time free" or "ultra-low-price eSIM" promotions impersonating Polaris eSIM may appear on social media or messaging apps, luring you into clicking unknown links or paying small fees. Note: all official promotions are announced only on our official website (polaris-esim.tw).
💳 Fake Refund Notifications
Scammers may use excuses like "refund failed" or "overpaid amount must be returned" to ask for your bank account information or have you make a transfer. Note: Polaris eSIM refunds are always issued back to the original payment method — we will never ask you to make a separate transfer.
How to Identify Authenticity
✅ Check the URL
Ensure the website URL is polaris-esim.tw. Check for correct spelling and avoid clicking suspicious shortened URLs.
✅ Check the Email Source
Confirm the sender's email address is the official one and look for subtle spelling differences.
✅ Do Not Trust Calls Blindly
If you receive a call claiming to be from Polaris eSIM, hang up first and proactively contact us through official channels for verification.
✅ Do Not Operate ATMs
Any request to operate an ATM or perform a bank transfer is 100% a scam. Please hang up immediately.
What to do if you encounter fraud?
Stay calm and stop all actions immediately
Do not panic. Immediately stop any suspicious transfers, remittances, or information sharing.
Call 165 — anti-fraud / police hotline
Call 165, the anti-fraud hotline. Taiwan's National Police Agency provides 24/7 advisory and reporting services. If you're currently being victimized or in immediate danger, dial 110 for police.
Keep Evidence
Take screenshots and keep records of fraudulent messages, call logs, and transfer details to assist in subsequent reporting and investigation.
